"More Army Green!", Says Paris Fashion Week

While London's runways were filled with bright confections for fall, Paris Fashion Week brought a return to neutral, utilitarian apparel, as demonstrated by (left to right) H&M, Isabel Marant, Balenciaga, Balmain, and Lanvin.

Alexander Wang, who showed a bold-hued namesake collection during New York Fashion Week, reserved more muted, military-inspired creations for Balenciaga. H&M, which showed its second-ever runway show for a string of adoring celebrity fans, complemented its own cargo pieces with colorful pops of orange, as did Balmain.

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley obviously paid attention. The supermodel, who walked in the Balmain show earlier in the week, displayed the trend while off-duty in an olive-and-black coat that she layered over her basic all-black outfit.
