It's Easy Being Green: Kale-Infused Beauty Products to Add to Your Routine

(Source: Thinkstock, Alba, Nourish, Nails Inc.)
I had never heard of kale until two years ago when I moved in with my roommate who consumes it like it's air. Now, I buy it on the regular and seek it out in my weekly green juices. (FYI, still wrapping my brain around a $10 green juice.) So I guess it was only a matter of time until kale, the ultimate superfood, worked its way into my job and beauty routine.

As a beauty editor, I've noticed kale-infused beauty products keep popping up left and right. Kale, which boasts hearty doses of vitamins A, C and K, is high in antioxidants and is good for your body in more ways than one. Vitamin A, or retinol, boasts skin differentiation and regrowth, while vitamin C is important in the production of collagen and skin firmness. Lastly, kale is loaded with vitamin K, which is great for reducing under-eye dark circles. With benefits like that, it's hard to believe we haven't always been smearing kale all over our faces.

In case you want to start incorporating kale into something other than your salad bowl, we found three kale-infused products to help get you started.

For the hands:

Nourish Argan and Kale Anti-Aging Hand Cream, $21

(Source: Feel Unique)
British-based brand Nourish created this anti-aging hand cream that not only hydrates but fights aging skin by promoting skin elasticity, reducing redness and inflammation, as well as discoloration.

For the face:

Alba Botanica Good and Healthy Broad Spectrum SPF 15 Moisturizer, $10

(Source: Alba Botanica)
This thick and creamy mineral sunscreen contains leafy greens such as kale, spinach and swiss chard for a luminous complexion that wards off dullness.

For the nails:

Nails Inc. NailKale Superfood Base Coat, $15

But don't just stop with your skin. Kale stimulates advanced keratin production to hydrate and nourish nails as well, which is precisely why it's ideal for a strengthening nail base coat.

So the next time you find yourself thinking kale is nothing more than a trendy veggie, think again. This is one powerful green that's really as super as it sounds.
