On the heels of cool collabs with Rita Ora and Pharell Williams, Adidas Originals debuts a striking capsule collection from Mary Katrantzou. Beloved for her psychedelic digital prints (Alexa Chung, Keira Knightley and Beyonce are fans), the British designer splashed her signature out-there patterns over a range of athletic shoes ($250–$365) and apparel ($120–$655). The results are audacious and inspired.
Trainers are decked out with metal spikes and swathes of florals, mixing look-at-me hues such as purple and jade green. Meanwhile, neoprene and mesh clothing styles feature blown-up images of laces and Adidas' iconic stripes, among other kaleidoscopic motifs. Some of the piece, including these performance leggings ($240), could stand up to a gym session, but most of the styles are suited for more leisurely pursuits—we can't imagine anyone hitting the squat rack in a tank dress ($290) or mini skirt ($260).
Either way, these are styles that make a bold, eye-catching statement. Check out the collection here.
